Distinct Minneapolis Neighborhoods

Minneapolis has a wide range of excellent housing options. Here are just a few of the neighborhoods in Minneapolis.

Southwest Minneapolis has many attractive residential neighborhoods and is located only five miles from downtown Minneapolis. Lake Calhoun and Lake Harriet serve as recreational focal points for Southwest Minneapolis.

The Nokomis neighborhood of Minneapolis has highest percentage of single family homes in Minneapolis. Nokomis is just six miles south of Minneapolis and has the highest continuous residency rate of all Minneapolis neighborhoods. In addition to Lake Nokomis and its parkland, there is Diamond Lake, East Minnehaha Creek and Parkway, and Lake Hiawatha which includes an 18-hole golf course.

Cedar and Lake of the Isles are encircled by a tree lined parkway system. There are numerous real estate options including older, single family homes, duplexes, townhomes and condos.

The Kenwood and Lowry Hill neighborhoods have beautifully maintained, older homes and mansions surrounded by immaculate lawns and gardens. Equally impressive but newer homes are found in the Cedar Lake area.
