Minneapolis Libraries
Minneapolis -- The Most Literate City
For
the past two years, Minneapolis ranked No.1 on the list of America’s
"most literate cities." Seattle is a close second in a
study by Central Connecticut State University.
The annual study used six factors to rank a
community's literacy: newspaper circulation, bookstores, libraries,
periodical publishing resources, educational attainment and Internet
resources.
“The
ratio of cardholders to city’s population is incredibly high—it’s
the third-highest in the country. This is a city that loves its
libraries," says Minneapolis Library director, Kit Hadley.

Hennepin County Libraries
The Hennepin County

consistently ranks among the "top 3" in the country.
